My name is Heather and I graduated with my master’s in social work from Western Michigan University in 2018, specializing in trauma over the lifespan and TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and their caregivers). Since then, I have worked at my community mental health agency as a case manager and home-based therapist. I am trained in TF-CBT, fetal alcohol spectrum treatment, and Motivational Interviewing. I also have experience with CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) as well as family, play and art therapy. I have worked with children and their family’s experiencing anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and family conflict. With my clients, I focus on their strengths and empowering them in their journey. I believe that therapy is about holding a child’s or family’s story and walking alongside them in a non-judgmental and trauma-informed way.
